The work involved in the restoration of Castello dell'Acciaiolo has been financed by a number of sources.
The City of Scandicci contributed a total of EUR 1,810,000.00, including public and private contributions.
This funding allocated by the City of Scandicci is an indicator of the recognition at various levels of the importance of the restoration work and of the past and future roles the castle plays for the city.
In this context it should be duly noted that the City of Scandicci obtained the amount of EUR 1,903,783.00 from the European Union fund for regional development for the realization of the Multifunction Center of the Italian Leather Trade, as well as a contribution of EUR 1,000,000.00 for economic development from the Committe for Economic Development (CIPE).
The financing of the restoration consists also of private contributions from the bank "Cassa di Risparmio di Firenze" and the firm "Guccio Gucci SPA", each of which contributed EUR 774,685.00.
