Largo G. Spontini's garden is inside an 60s urban complex in one of the Scandicci's most populated districts.
It is a green area characterized by a large numberof paths with spaces for children, spaces for leasure, spaces for the standstill and the conversation.
The new deployment of the Largo G. Spontini's garden rearranged the area in two main parts: a space for the district and an area completeyu reserved to children playground. This area is dedicated to young people and has been delimited with a particular building called "dragon", which symbolizes the new garden.
The "dragon" area contains the playrground and becomes part of the funny environment as well as an element for attracting children. The dragon body is softly curved and people can seat on its whole perimeter.
The dragon head was carved in stone by a craftman and contains a little water fountain. The Town Council intended to give back few available areas to the neiborhood as well as to build an entertainment area in which children can play freely.
The works for the setup of the green area of Largo G. Spontini began in March 2004, while the garden was celebrated with an event organized by the district citizens in 11/27/2004.
